SEA SAVE NEWS:

These are some of the top issues facing many of our novice aquarium enthusiasts. We highly recommend that you become knowledgeable in these areas to protect your investment and in the long run save money on the preventable replacement of fish and corals. We here at Sea Save are here to help so please come to us with any questions you may have. To us the only dumb question is the one not asked.

THERE IS "NO" RETURNS ON LIVE STOCK. WE WILL STILL DO CONSIGNMENTS, AND OR TRADE IN'S FOR INSTORE CREDIT. MINUS 20 % FOR RE-STOCKING FEES (PRIOR APPROVAL ONLY)

REASON: It is stressful for all creatures to be caught, bagged and transported (Even corals and invertabrates.) Please make sure before you buy your new pet it is what you really would like. We understand character, and not everybody will "Play well with others." Most of the time we hold our fish 3 - 5 days before selling them. We are not able to resell any bagged and rebagged creatures. Also the time that it involves for this proceedure. Please, remember not to "Impulse buy" your new pets. We consider all of God's creature's to be important and go throught extreme measures to ensure healthy and happy pets.

SORRY FOR AND INCONVIENCE THIS MAY CAUSE.  THANK-YOU, SEA SAVE.

Policies and Procedures: Ordering new pets must be picked up when ordered. If a deposit is made, we explain a 20% restocking fee will be deducted from the original amount. Credit Card charges is included in this amount. The cost to Sea Save Inc. would be over whelming if everybody would pay and want a refund. Again, we apoligize, we do not cator to the impulse buyer. We feel this leads to unwated pets, and God knows there are too many of them as it is. As a business this costs us more money in the long run that could cause us a loss, not only for us but to everybody who invests in this Company. MAKE SURE IT IS WHAT YOU WANT BEFORE YOU ORDER!

AFTER 30 DAYS ITEM BELONGS TO SEA SAVE INC. (Thanks for the donation)

QUESTION: Why can I buy "On-line cheaper? C.P. MARYLAND

ANSWER: Some of these companies can afford to buy at a much higher amount than us at this time. Service is apart of this, Can the person on the other end of the phone instruct you, or just answer the phone? What about a warranty? Another point is who you are sending your money to. Last and certainly not least, if the consumer continues to buy "on-line" there will be no more "LPS" ( Local Pet Store) remember supply and demand. Sea Save Inc. tries to relay this message and the more demand for a product or supplier the more we can supply your product for you. We are working on getting these products at a more reasonable rate.

Question: Can you get corals from ** *** supplier? Glen Burnie,md. resident

Answer: We at Sea Save WILL NOT order corals, fish, live stock, etc. for the aquarium trade that is illegally acquired or collected. Which includes: dynamite, Cyndie, quinaldine or sneeking corals into this country illegally. We DON'T promote, support or order these species from any body who do not have the proper licenses to collect, harvest, or aqua culture. Stealing is Stealing. By ordering on-line with some of these other suppliers we would be contributing to their behavior. We do not believe in receiving stolen merchandise. We go through extensive measures to ensure our collectors, divers and suppliers do not participate in illegal activities as well. We visit our suppliers facilities and eliminate "back yard" collectors. As divers and collectors we pay for these licenses and make sure that our suppliers have them as well. We have elliminated several suppliers by this proceedure to ensure our clients (knowing or not) do not recieve "illegal" creatures. Ask your local supplier. Note: We blanked out the name of this local supplier.

ADDITIVES: YOU DO NOT NEED TO ADD "CHEMICALS" WHEN ADDING NEW FISH,CORALS OR INVERTS!!!!!!!

DO NOT DUMP RALLY, MELAFIX IN YOUR TANKS OR PONDS!!!!! WILL KILL MOST ALL YOUR FISH. RALLY RAISES AMONIA LEVELS OFF THE SCALES. AND MELAFIX SMELLS LIKE VIX VAPOR RUB. KILLED MOST OF THE FISH IN MY POND AND TANK. NO WONDER WHY. WISH I WOULD HAVE ASK YOU FIRST. THANKS FOR SETTING ME STRAIGHT. B.F. MARYLAND

STATEMENT:TextField1:I wanted to share a message I received from noted author, Robert Fenner, re: your claim that there are no Aiptasia in the Atlantic/on your live rock:

"On another note, I have a question about Aiptasia.  I
have been debating this issue with a LFS owner, which
sells Florida aqua-cultured LR exclusively.  He claims
that his LR is guaranteed Aiptasia-free, because "NO APTASIA IN THE
ATLANTIC!"

<Uhh, not so . . . Have seen them there, many times...>

<Do send this note to the company, rep...  BobF>
A.B.,baltimore maryland.

REPLY: O,kay maybe it wasn't stated "politicaly correct". Our LR is from the Gulf and to us the gulf and the atlantic mixes in the keys anyway. To us, I'ts all Atlantic waters. L.O.L. We have been buying LR from the same diver for more than 7 years and never had aiptasia on it and that was the point. He also has been growing this rock for more than 20 years. Ever heard of glass anemones or curleque anemones? You could also count tentacles if you want to split hairs. I would have been more than happy to explain further had you of given an e-mail for me to respond to. Thank-you for your interest, Bambi, Sea Save Inc.

Issues :Tap water Conditioner

De-clorinated tap water is NOT a safe way to go for your aquariums.  "Oh, my tank has been doing fine for  "6 months, 18 months, 3 years, and the longest servivor yet 7 years"  The city water is fine for human consumption not Ocean Creatures.  The City adds chemicals that will build up and kill your Pets. De-clorinator will not remove all heavy metals and silicates that are deadly.  When using sand or crushed coral that abosorbs these chemicals will break down and release them back into your tank causing toxins to be released. CRASH!!!!!!!!

Issues'

"ICK"

Some issues have come up this week and we would like to use this area to solve some of these problems.

There are some species of "FISH" Sea Save does not carry for this reason.  Some are more prone than others.  Hippo, Purple, Yellow Tangs, Triggers, Puffers, are notorious for this problem.  We are a "SPECIALITY SHOP".  We will order your new pet for you, however keep in mind and almost expect these outbreaks.  Some of the species will have the Ick parisite within them at all times and when they get stressed out look out.  This parisite will be the contributing factor for the death of all your fish.  We like to be able to offer you the best price for your new pet.  By "placing your order" we are able to do so.

We have had 3-Hippo Tangs, and 1 - Yellow Tang brought in this week for us to cure.  We do offer this service for our clients.  However, keep in mind if you buy these fish BEWARE.  It will be a $5 per day - per tank charge.  It also ties up our tanks and keeps us unable to order in new pets for our clients.

Then why do the other stores carry them?

Most of them will run all of their water together and either use a UV sterilizer or Copper to treat this problems.  Copper will burn their liver, Gills, and Kidney's and shorten the life span of your pet, and in some cases death.  A UV sterilizer is good for your outdoor ponds.  Works great for killing green algea.  The water will run too fast through this filter to kill all parisites. The UV bulb will dim after time and is hard to detect when to replace it.  Mr. John spent two years designing a cure for this and we would not have opened another store without it.  After trying everything that is available out there, we could not find anything that would work every time.  No garlic in the ocean. although fresh water dips may work on some, it is NOT a cure all.  Formalin and formaldihyde is embalming fluid. We actually went to our L.P.S. (Local Pet Store) to purposely find fish that had ick. (It was not to hard).

We a trying to STOP some of these deaths.  By ordering in your new pet we are able to keep our expenses down and charge you less.  We also are in this industry to help preserve the life of these creatures and until we have a need for them we like to keep them in the ocean.  We try to order tank raised and/or aqua-cultured when ever posible instead of striping nature of it's resources.

By opening our Wholesale facility we are trying to stop it at the wholesale level instead of waiting until it gets to you.  The more we stress these fish to more deaths we have, and that's what we are working hard to put a stop to this.  The only control we have over this issue is simply NOT order these creature until we have a call for them.  Every business will go by supply and demand, and if we do not demand lots then we are also helping keep our natural environment more sound and not just stripping the Oceans of their resources'.

Why don't you order fish in every week?

We at Sea Save try to practice what we preach.  We say "don't introduce too many fish at a time".  "Let your tanks rest". and "Isolate","Quarantine" and give your new pet time to settle in.  We also have to do the same.  When ordering new pets we also give our tanks a chance to "catch up".  By adding so many all at one time will cause your tank to become high in ammonia levels, more water changes and adds to the cost.  We try to keep our overhead down to a minimum and the death rate as well. We try to be responsible with the money you spend here at Sea Save and feel responisble to invest wisely.  That's how we are able to keep our prices low.

Some of species will come from the other side of the world and even ordering them in will take some time.  We "dive to order".  We buy our fish directly from divers and who collect without using improper methods. Drugs, Dynomite, Cyanide, etc. In some cases it will take awhile to get them in.  Then 3-5 days after. We will not sell out fish that comes in for at least 3 days. The hardest part about saltwater is patience. Keep this in mind when ordering.

If you have any questions or comments: Please e-mail and we can dicuss.

Thank-You, Sea Save
