America once was a great nation of proud people making an honest living of goods and services that provided all a loving family needed to live a dream that once meant something to all of us.
Now, we are a nation of bottom feeders all devouring the dreams of others for no good reason other than profit and the satisfaction of keeping others down at any cost. Living meaningless lives with no real purpose other than scamming your fellow neighbor. Just to make it another day in a world that was never meant to be so hard.
In fact, it’s gotten so bad that anything can be profitable, even pollution, that’s right pollution. Turns out they can make even more money by not actually cleaning up or stopping pollution. (Job security?). Millions in studies, millions in payoffs to look the other way, millions in new buildings, cars, salaries and expense accounts. Oh, and don’t forget the bonuses for bad behavior which is the new American way.
In Florida it’s more of a fine to feed a bird, than to throw a car battery in the ocean… and according to the FWC if you take one back out, your are no better than the one who put it in..
In Baltimore the MDE and the Chesapeake bay foundation say it’s ok to dump tons of polluted snow into the inner harbor and a cargo ship company is allowed to dump chemicals in the rest of the year because they buy the city’s fireworks. Decades of damage to the bay for 30 minutes of…more pollution!
In the Gulf of Mexico it’s cheaper to hide the oil, pay everybody off and pretend it never existed than to just clean it up (like they said they would).
And in our “nations capital” the Chesapeake Bay is one of the most polluted body's of water anywhere. Boasting the number one cancer rate in America, because the bay foundations and government agencies make more money to kill their fellow Americans for profit than to do what’s right which would be to actually fix the problems instead of making them worse…But that would make to much sense.
Speaking of sense, what’s needed is some good ol fashion American “common sense”! Trouble with common sense is though, it’s not that common anymore.
Truth is, the answers are right there in front of us. Simple solutions of common sense could solve a lot of our problems without wasting all the trillions of dollars and lives.
The Chesapeake Bay pollution problem could be solved with a few simple steps. First…stop the pollution from going into the watershed by making companies such as chicken farms purify their run off water through coal from the power plants and then burned just like it was to begin with, creating no waste. Coal or carbon is used in water purification everyday all over the world, so why not use it to clean up a polluted body of water? A few cargo ships would bring the water quality back enough to support the natural filters of the bay such as oysters and grasses which could once again keep the bay clean naturally.
Sand point wells could also be used to bring back the water quality to pre bay foundation levels creating the ecosystem a heritage and a great nation was raised on.
Blue crabs that were blue, soreless rockfish that were healthy to eat and oysters that weren’t cancer bombs full of worms.
Speaking of worms… BP, FDA, NOAA, EPA, Coast guard, etc., and the US government all choose to sweep the oil under the rug (sand) and spend more money on getting out of work than just doing their job. The rest they spent on magic beans to make the giant magically go away and seafood safe to eat (sniff, sniff).
The truth is the seafood is NOT safe to eat and the FDA just raised the acceptable levels of chemicals in your seafood. No levels should be acceptable!
All we have to do is purge the live seafood of their contaminates by putting them in clean water for a few days before we eat them, but that would cut into profits and they would have to admit the truth which does not exceed the amount of acceptable deaths of people and sea life.
All of our wisdom, but yet the life and death of others are still decided in a back room by people that still believe “what’s in it for me” is a factor in deciding the number of acceptable deaths. What the people that are making these decisions don’t realize is, somebody is making decisions about them too.
Truth is, as Americans we can chose the life and death of the very companies that are killing us and millions of innocent creatures of the planet earth for profit.
The “freedom” everybody keeps talking about is the ability to come together as a nation and do the right thing because it’s the right thing to do. Our fore fathers saw what happened in England and wrote the constitution of the United States to keep government and companies from becoming so big they controlled the lives of people like cattle.
WE THE PEOPLE of the United States of America need to come together and use our choice and rights according to our morals and constitution to set this once great nation on a path to “life before profit“.
